Weather is the state of the atmosphere at any given time and place. Most weather takes place in the lower layer of the atmosphere. Weather occurs because our atmosphere is in constant motion.
Some determining factors of weather are temperature, precipitation, fronts, clouds, and wind. Other more severe weather conditions are hurricanes, tornadoes, and thunderstorms. Weather changes every season because of the Earth's tilt when it revolves around the sun. Meteorology is the study of weather, and meteorologists are scientists who study and predict weather. My name is Little Joe and I want to be a meterologist...for the dogs! We all know about hurricanes! Hurricanes are violent storms which begin in the tropics. They are the most powerful of all weather systems. Different parts of the world call hurricanes by different names.

Hurricanes have been given alternating male and female names since 1979. These names change every year. Hurricanes may form anytime during the year, but they are most likely to form between June 1st and November 30th; this is hurricane season. ![]() Questions1.
